Kelsey Dexter

Kelsey is a physician and holistic wellness advocate who has been practicing yoga for over 20 years. Initially drawn to yoga for its physical benefits, she remained devoted to the practice for the mental clarity, stillness, and deep sense of connection it fosters. Through yoga, Kelsey has found profound peace and connection to herself, to others, and to the divine.

Over the years, she has studied a wide range of yoga styles with exceptional teachers. She completed a 200-hour teacher training with her friend and mentor, Sheryl Utal, in 2026 and is nearing completion of an additional 200-hour training with the Yoga School of Jackson. She also plans to pursue a 300-hour yoga therapy certification.

Kelsey is deeply passionate about foundational health and vitalism practices and enjoys educating others on the root causes of illness and pathways to vibrant, sustainable wellness.

Her vision for Golden Hour is to bring the many beautiful aspects of yoga to the Jackson community by creating a peaceful sanctuary open to all—one that serves as a center for wellness education, a gathering place for aligned seekers, and a space where the magic of deep connection can unfold.

As she continued to study yoga philosophy and develop her personal practice, she realized yoga was much more than just a series of postures- it's a way of life. After 17 years of passionately working as an art educator, she is excited to be able to bring the same enthusiasm to Golden Hour.

Lauren Magee

I first came to yoga when I began running as a way to stretch and stay injury free. As life decided to throw me some major curve balls, I began to really understand and benefit from the physical benefits of yoga, but also the energetic and lifestyle guidance that I receive from the practice.
I’ve practice for over 15 years and have taught for 13. I hold an ERYT 500 from Yoga Alliance. I love teaching flow-based classes with a strong connection to the music. My sweet spot is a rhythmic power flow. As yoga is all about balance, I’ve also become more focused personally on stillness-based practices. I am eager to share some yin and restorative classes in the future.
I’ve lived in Jackson since 2011 with my amazing husband and ever evolving menagerie of animal friends.

Lauren Hemrick

Lauren has been practicing yoga for more than ten years, having first been drawn to the practice out of curiosity and a desire to try something new. She remembers the stillness and clarity she experienced while in Savasana at the end of her first class, and she soon knew this practice would become a regular part of her life. Lauren believes that while yoga practice is often personal, the benefits are communal; that as we grow in awareness, we recognize our connectedness to everything and move through life as such.

Lauren has a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling and is a licensed school counselor turned stay-at-home mom to two wonderful kids. She completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training with Yoga Renew. She is deeply grateful to all the teachers who have guided her path, and she is honored to share this practice with others.

She has been touted as the “empathy professor” in Union University’s Cardinal and Cream, February 2023. She routinely blogs for Flourishing which supports mental health across the lifespan.

Dr. Patton enjoys teaching theory and practice courses that help shape perspectives in understanding behaviors across the lifespan. Quoting a previous mentor, she routinely states in her human behavior courses that “there’s always a why behind the who for the what.” This means, there’s always a reason behind the person for their behavior. Behavior is communication to us. Theory helps us understand human behavior in the environment so we can help wholistically and empathically meet needs.
